Allowing account requests from the System Preferences section
1. Click Accounts in the Preference list on the left side.
2. Click the box beside Anonymous users can request an account. A check mark will toggle, whether or not that anonymous users are able to register.
3. Click Save Changes.

Allowing accounts to expire from the System Preferences section
1. Click Accounts in the Preference list on the left side.
2. Click the box beside Allow accounts to expire. A check mark will toggle, whether or not user passwords will expire.
3. Click Save Changes.

Setting expiration days from the System Preferences section
1. Click Accounts in the Preference list on the left side.
2. Select the user type you wish to edit.
3. Edit the number to choose the number of days after account expiry.
4. Click Save Changes.
